User Reviews

Overall, users praise Reformed Companion as a highly useful, portable hub for Reformed confessions, creeds, and catechisms with linked scriptural proofs and easy navigation. The app’s strength lies in breadth, readability, and in-app scripture access for study and family catechesis. Reported drawbacks include occasional content accuracy concerns, missing audio/read-aloud capability, a creedal labeling error, and some device-specific UI issues. Despite these, it’s viewed as a valuable, user-friendly resource for on-the-go Reformed theology.
Pros
  • Comprehensive, centralized library of Reformed confessions, creeds, and catechisms all in one portable app.
  • In-app scriptures with full proofs and the ability to read full scripture within the app, plus contextual references.
  • Simple, intuitive, and well-organized UI that’s user-friendly.
  • Excellent for catechism use, with Bible verses for each response and kid-friendly content; handy for memorization.
Cons
  • Content accuracy concerns: some doctrinal interpretations and translation notes noted as potentially inaccurate (e.g., limited atonement).
  • No built-in audio/read-aloud feature; users would like to listen while reading.
  • Creedal content labeling error: Athanasian and Nicene Creeds are swapped.
  • Not fully optimized for all devices (notch/header issues on iPhone; landscape/iPad optimization could be improved).

Love it - found an error. In q 99 point 2 lists the proof text as lev 19.1 but it is Lev 19.12

This is a easy to use app. I appreciate how the Text of the Scriptures References show up in the app, when I click them. Other apps I have tried did not have this function.

Thanks so much for making this! One suggestion: color options. Purple is not everyone’s cup of tea - other options, including gray, blue, etc. would be amazing. Thanks again!
