User Reviews

Artesnaut shines as a story‑driven, highly customizable idle RPG with rich lore and deep party strategy, plus optional monetization that isn’t weaponizing paywalls. Players praise the narrative, build variety, and the idle/JRPG hybrid. Recurrent drawbacks include an incomplete story with slow updates, UI QoL gaps, RNG‑heavy loot, and some monetization frustrations. Overall, it’s a compelling hidden gem for narrative fans and theory‑crafters, especially those who enjoy long‑form text and meticulous character planning.
Pros
  • Rich, lore‑driven story with high‑quality writing
  • Deep customization and party-building with many classes, races, and gear options
  • No pay‑to‑win / free‑to‑play friendly with optional, non‑predatory monetization
  • Engaging idle+JRPG hybrid with satisfying party management and progression
  • Strong loot variety and long‑term depth, supported by active community and developer involvement
Cons
  • Incomplete story and slow content updates; narrative feels unfinished
  • Gear/loot UI could use sorting and other quality‑of‑life improvements (unlabeled buttons, tedious dismantling)
  • RNG‑heavy loot/gear progression can feel arbitrary or frustrating at times
  • Monetization concerns: some updates or paid features appear to gate or affect builds, causing frustration for some players

I don’t review games often, but I had to for this game. I have sat in my bed or at my desk for hours at a time trying to build my perfect parties. I can create who and what I want with 100 possibilities and the more you progress the more they throw at you to customize more! At first it starts slow, few classes, few skills, etc. However, if you stay with it and understand the mechanics of the game, you can then make a Beast berserker that hurts himself to deal tons of dmg or a priest that can be a sword wielder!!! There are endless possibilities and I love this game a lot! There are some flaws though, for example I don’t fully understand the summoner part of the game because there is no guide that explains it perfectly. There also isn’t something that says side states on weapons and gear attacks or doesn’t, so I do sometimes just in case but for specific classes is more difficult to sit there and build when there are no specific stats to go off of for it. You simply have to read and trust what you are reading to happen.
