User Reviews

Reviews paint a mixed picture: Calmerry’s app is functional and user-friendly with generally responsive customer support, and some users have found helpful therapy experiences. However, many reviews highlight serious downsides: text-based therapy often lacks depth, therapists can be slow or unengaged, billing/cancellation problems and refunds are common, and the app has frequent bugs. Overall, some users benefit from the convenience, but persistent quality and billing concerns dominate the feedback.
Pros
  • The app is well-made and functional, working well on both iPhone and web.
  • Customer service is frequently described as responsive and helpful.
  • Some users connect with therapists and find the service supportive for text-based therapy.
  • Positive remarks about features like switching counselors and occasional extras (e.g., group webinars, journaling).
Cons
  • Therapy via text is seen as not a good substitute for real in-person therapy and may lack genuine human connection.
  • Therapists are often unresponsive or slow to reply, with reports of auto-replies and missed sessions.
  • Billing and cancellation issues are common, including charges after cancellation and unclear pricing/refunds.
  • App reliability problems and bugs (login issues, messages not sending, updates causing glitches).
  • Mixed experiences with customer service, with some users finding it slow or unhelpful.
Recent reviews
The platform is actually really well made and functional. It works well on the phone and on the web. However, as a service Calmerry is terrible. There is no matching process, or onboarding plan. You're just matched with someone and free to chat. You can ask to be repaired and try again. I was constantly getting notifications about changes to my account, plans, and who I'm matched with. What Calmerry tried to do was make therapy easier and more accessible but instead forgot that therapy is about true human connection, which it gets in the way of. I wouldn't recommend this platform. Perhaps there are others. Customer service is very responsive and helpful tho.

My therapist was nice but I have been to real in person therapy, and this is not a good replacement for a real therapy experience. Yes the therapists are “real therapists” but do yourself a favor and see a therapist in a local clinic
