User Reviews

Overall, the app is praised for its simple, protein-focused design and easy quick-entry, with a helpful barcode feature. However, many reviews cite paywalls that block basic lookups, subscription recognition issues, onboarding blockers, and occasional crashes. Users also want more nutrition data, weight/workout tracking, and reliable access without paying, plus better support. Improvements in onboarding, billing reliability, and feature scope would significantly boost satisfaction.
Pros
  • Simple, easy-to-use design focused on protein tracking
  • Quick food entry without needing to add every detail
  • Barcode scanning is accurate and helpful for protein lookup
  • Responsive to user requests and tweaks
  • Positive for users who value a focused protein tracker
Cons
  • Paywalls block basic features (searching/looking up protein content) in the free version
  • Subscription issues: not recognized after purchase and features can stop working, with poor support
  • Onboarding/setup flow often fails (getting started steps, next button missing)
  • Core functionality can crash or stop working (camera stops, app becomes unusable)
  • Missing essential features (sugars, fiber, weight/body data, workouts, sleep) and some UI/branding concerns

UX suggestion, can’t add things to list when input for protein is empty

Would have kept it past the free trial if it didn’t force me to login every single time. And by login I mean it made me submit everything (age, height, goals) EVERY SINGLE TIME I went in to just log a meal.

The basic (free) version is unusable, because every time you try to add a food to track, the pop-up to go premium covers your screen and doesn’t allow you to search or add.
