Users like Moonside for simple Bluetooth pairing, attractive presets and colors, and the lamps themselves. But the app’s WiFi setup and control are unreliable, and the Bluetooth functionality sometimes works only briefly. The app is glitchy and inconsistent, with scenes not syncing to Alexa/Google and HomeKit not yet supported. Voice assistant integrations are a recurring pain, and the UI is perceived as overengineered, with AI prompts and clunky controls. Overall, hardware is appealing but app and smart home support are the main issues.

Recent reviews

This app seems to be getting a lot of negative reviews, but I have only good things to report. This app is a gem in the sense that you don’t have to make an account to use it (incredible these days) and you don’t even have to connect your light to WiFi, it’s all Bluetooth! I love how fast it was to setup and connect. Yes you have to be close to your light to switch colors/themes (duh) but it’s great that I don’t have to connect to the internet and it’s still wireless. Love the product and app.

Cannot connect my brand new halo lamp to wifi. Flat out doesn't respond. Used to work on my lighthouse lamp and no longer functions there either. Team seems to be too busy playing with their 3d printer to fulfill their promises and ensure their app functions. It gets worse with every update.
