User Reviews

Barry’s X offers strong, studio-like workouts with a large on-demand/live library and a home/community vibe, but users frequently report filtering/search issues, music integration problems, streaming reliability problems, content/value concerns, and onboarding/cancellation friction.
Pros
  • Solid, high-quality workouts with top instructors delivering in-studio intensity on the app.
  • Large on-demand and live class library with filtering/bookmarking to pick daily workouts.
  • Strong community and convenient at-home access, helpful for travel or staying connected to Barry’s.
  • Engaging programming and instructors that keep users motivated and in shape at home.
Cons
  • Filters and search are unreliable or misleading, making it hard to find the right class; recent updates worsen browsing by class length/times.
  • Music rights/integration issues; cannot reliably listen to music with workouts and the new music feature is poorly received.

I used to do Barry’s in person classes. During Covid and after kids I started working out with Barry’s in my garage. It gives me the intensity and direction I need to get a great workout with limited space, equipment, and time. I can take it with me everywhere I go. When I travel for work or fun, I can do Barry’s in the hotel gym or anywhere I bring my bands.

There are some solid workouts on the APP. I typically filter through the workouts prior to decide what is best for that day and bookmark my favs. Downside: Wish they would attach some playlist to go along with the workout we can follow along with to have music match the highs and lows of the workout. Also they need a nicer studio to record these workouts. Other than that, It’s fine. -Wayne

The filters don’t work. There are a bunch of classes that require weights when applying the bodyweight only filter. There isn’t a single bodyweight arm workout in the entire catalog. The only cardio workouts are running. How on earth can they charge $40/mo for such a limited selection?
