User Reviews

Glass is praised for its beautiful, minimal UI and a warm, photography-first community. Reviewers love the ad-free, algorithm-free experience, the visible metadata (EXIF) and series features, and the focus on meaningful sharing and feedback over engagement. However, recurring complaints center on a heavy paywall that gates uploading and commenting, concerns about price and value, perceived elitism in curation, and occasional technical/UX issues like load times and navigation quirks. Overall, it’s beloved by serious photographers who are willing to invest for a distraction-free, learning-oriented space.
Pros
  • Beautiful, clean, distraction-free UI design that enhances photography.
  • Strong, supportive community of photographers with authentic sharing and helpful feedback.
  • No ads or algorithms, privacy-focused experience.
  • Exposure of metadata/EXIF data and series features that aid learning and technical understanding.
  • Engaging, photography-focused culture with opportunities to learn and grow, including challenges.
Cons
  • Paywall gates key actions (uploading and commenting) behind a subscription.
  • Pricing is a frequent complaint; many feel the cost is high or not worth it.
  • Perceived elitism or clique in curation and a decline in overall community vibrancy.
  • Technical/UX friction: occasional loading issues and navigation limitations (no forward/back arrows in series).
  • Some features seen as missing (galleries/publishers) and onboarding friction (sign-in data requests).

Can’t explain how perfect an app this is for posting photos and exploring photography. The design, the community of photographers, and stunning quality. Feels like a small company passion project in the best way. Hope it keeps growing and improving!

I love many things about Glass: it’s thoughtful and elegant design, the way it pushes back against mindless tapping and scrolling, and the ways it fosters authentic sharing and community. In 2026, it’s a blessing to be able to share an image from any platform and get out of the mobile editing/cropping workflow. I also love the way it pulls in image metadata, and the concept of series.

No ads. No algorithms. No spam. No memes. No influencers. No reviews. No marketing. No data mining. No noise. No clutter. No distractions. No ‘like’ FOMO. And thankfully, not “free”. I greatly prefer paying real money for the privilege and experience that the internet promised before big tech and advertisers ruined it. To the devs, I rate you 100/10. Thank you for making this for people that care about photography.
