User Reviews

Users appreciate the core idea of transferring and backing up media to the iDiskk drive and then to a PC, and some find compatibility with multiple drives useful. However, they repeatedly complain about crashes, slow/failed backups for large libraries, privacy/perms concerns, post-update regressions, and a lack of essential file-management features (drag-and-drop, move), along with minimal guidance. Overall, the hardware is seen as workable by some, but the app’s reliability, usability, and privacy concerns dominate feedback.
Pros
  • Allows transferring entire folders between the iPhone and the iDiskk external drive, and from the drive to a PC.
  • Works with multiple USB drives; good hardware integration and compatibility with external storage.
  • Useful for backing up large photo/video libraries from the phone to the drive and then to a computer.
Cons
  • App is buggy and crashes frequently, making it unreliable.
  • Backups and transfers are slow or fail, especially with large libraries, with little feedback on failing files.
  • Privacy concerns due to the app requesting full access to Photos/Videos and inconsistent authentication between phone app and computer.
  • Updates often remove features or break the UI, leaving users unable to access backups or see files.
  • Missing essential file-management features (no drag-and-drop or move option; clunky UI; lack of clear instructions).

I like that the external hard drive can be used for more space on my iPad/iPhone since my iCloud & Dropbox app are full. I don’t want to have pay for more space for those two. I just wish with the external hard drive, when you load your photos & videos that it could put them in order by chronological date the photo was taken on instead of the backed up time. I wish it had the selection of to put them in order by date taken on also cause I like to put my photos in that order on my computer and all electronic devices so I have the most recent first. I don’t like that the only order choices are times, types & names.

I cannot access my files in the app at all. It only backs up photos & videos. Will probably return if this isn’t fixed soon. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Especially considering the price.
