User Reviews

Pros: It serves as a solid Bookworm replacement with engaging word puzzles, adds strategy in word formation, offers natural controls, is free with no ads, and includes varied categories like texting abbreviations. Cons: Dictionary validity is inconsistent, many words aren’t real or allowed (Qi, cen, coe); too many red/burning tiles; control and UI issues make selecting letters fiddly; occasional game-ending bugs; and uneven letter distribution with too many hard letters and too few common ones.
Pros
  • Feels like a strong Bookworm replacement with similar gameplay.
  • Engaging word-puzzle with strategic depth.
  • Natural, intuitive controls.
  • No ads and free-to-play experience.
  • Variety of word categories, including texting abbreviations.
Cons
  • Dictionary/word validity issues; many words aren't real or are questionable (e.g., Qi, cen, coe).
  • Too many burning/red tiles; board becomes overwhelmed and pace is aggressive.
  • Input/UI friction: letter selection can be unreliable and submitting words is cumbersome (top-submit).
  • Occasional game-ending bugs (abrupt end or crash when fire tiles reach the top).
  • Unbalanced letter distribution with too many hard letters (X, Z, C, U) and too few common ones (RSTLNE).

I started playing this game today. I like it, but I have a few issues with it. First of all, when you have a really good tile like a blue tile and a burning tile comes down and you haven’t used it yet, it will immediately come down and cover the blue tile. In Bookworm, it would wait a few seconds before taking away the blue tile but in this game it doesn’t. Secondly, a lot of words I question if they are real words. And I don’t think abbreviations should be used, like DEC for December etc. and thirdly, there are just too many burning tiles that come down. There’s hardly ever a time when you just have a clear board with no burning tiles.
