Hookmark: bookmark and retrieve important data across apps and devices. The first truly universal bidirectional bookmarking app for iPhone and iPad.

Hookmark enables you to bookmark and link data from your favorite apps. Not just web pages, tasks (OmniFocus, Things,etc.), Books e-books, emails, DEVONthink items, Document in Drafts, … or anything else. As long as it's linkable (has a URL), Hookmark can bookmark it. And you can "hook" bookmarks together (create and use two-way links between them).

With a Premium Service in-app purchase, Hookmark syncs your data to iCloud Drive. This makes them available across your iPad and iPhones. It can also sync bookmarks to & from Hook for macOS, another CogSci Apps® invention (sold separately).

Was really looking forward to this because it’s the major piece holding back the desktop app. Extremely disappointed to download and be met with “all buttons are locked until you subscribe”. I understand needing to pay for development costs but this is outrageous. It’s essentially a stab in the back of loyal customers because that’s who you’re targeting.

Love the idea of universal linking and what it can provide. This is way to us expensive for so little functionality. On top of that licensing on the main app is clunky and universal apps often fail, going to have to pass on this one after giving it a try…

I’ve used the Hookmark desktop app for years. It’s great. You should get it. But let’s be honest: even that app is a little spendy for what it is and does. But I’ve gotten enough worth out of it that I’ll fork over the cash anyway. Not for this. The phone app just isn’t good. Sync isn’t reliable and it only ever seems to work for opening web URLs, and even then, only sometimes. I’ve never successfully gotten it to open an email or an Apple Notes note, or a file, or anything else but a web URL. Speaking frankly, this should be a “free for desktop app users” kind of add-on thing. It’s not worth $30 a year, certainly not it it’s current state, and probably not ever given how inherently limited it is compared to its Mac big sibling. Buy the desktop app. Skip this one.
