The Townsville Game Fishing Club (T.G.F.C.) was first established in the mid 70’s and reformed in 1979 with Calvin Tilley as the president. The T.G.F.C. actively promotes and supports Tag & Release. The Objectives of the T.G.F.C.are as follows: • To promote and encourage the art of fishing. • To organize and supervise game fishing tournaments or suitable occasions throughout the year. • To accumulate data and keep records in connection with fish and fishing. • To promote and encourage conservation of fish and marine life.
