User Reviews

Users praise the drill‑and‑listen approach, instrument/tuning versatility, and a clean, ad‑free UI with responsive support. However, access is hampered by note recognition issues, frequent recalibration prompts and lag after updates, and limited progress tracking. Pricing concerns also surface for the subscription model. Overall, it’s a powerful fretboard trainer when it works reliably, with improvements desired in mic accuracy, reliability, and more transparent progress metrics.
Pros
  • Effective drill-and-listen method that helps memorize fretboard notes with audible prompts and mic verification.
  • Versatile tool with support for multiple instruments and tunings, offering varied practice options.
  • Ad-free, clean UI and responsive developer support, making learning smoother.
  • Strong learning feedback and memory-building design, with audible pitch cues and progress cues within rounds.
  • Good value for dedicated practice and positive reception of updates and ongoing improvements.
Cons
  • Inconsistent note recognition and frequent microphone calibration issues, causing incorrect progress.
  • Bugs and lag after updates (calibration prompts, slow menu navigation, reliability problems).
  • Limited progress tracking and hard-to-reset training history; per-note progress is not easily visible across strings.
  • Pricing concerns: subscription feels high and may be gatekeeping for some users.
  • Repetitive focus on a small set of notes in some rounds, leading to limited fretboard coverage.

I decided I want to learn all the notes across the guitar fretboard. I am practicing on guitar as mush as possible, but throughout the day I am also getting in mental exercises with this app (I use it without the guitar). It all seems to be working. I am really seeing the fretboard now and the patterns of notes. This app is exactly what I wanted to have. Something simple and fast to practice. And I think it’s really helping me because I definitely can find notes much better than before and am about 80% to knowing the whole fretboard without much hesitation.

Just so-so, even after adjusting from normal to sensitive, especially on the thinner strings.
