User Reviews

Summary: Users praise Vitamin for HealthKit integration, privacy, and a simple, free-to-use design with clear visual tracking. Common complaints: cumbersome data entry (no default dose, plus/minus only), limited supplement catalog (no custom entries or barcode scanning), and missing calendar or daily-goal features. Reminders can be unreliable and the app may crash at times, with reports of weak support. Overall, it's a privacy-friendly, HealthKit-friendly option for basic vitamin tracking, but it needs usability tweaks and feature enhancements.
Pros
  • Apple Health/HealthKit integration for syncing vitamin data with Health, with privacy-friendly, no mandatory account.
  • Simple, clean UI that’s easy to use for everyday tracking.
  • Free version provides solid core features without requiring a subscription.
  • Visual tracking through graphs and daily totals for a quick overview.
  • Reminders and tracking history help you stay on top of supplements.
Cons
  • Cumbersome data entry: dose defaults to the last entry and uses plus/minus controls, not a flexible textbox.
  • Limited supplement catalog; no easy way to add custom items or barcode scanning.
  • Missing calendar view and daily goals for tracking consistency.
  • Reminders can be unreliable and the app may crash after updates.
  • Difficulty contacting support or getting timely help.

I am very happy with tracking my vitamins and supplements. I do need to pay since I take several vitamin pills that are specially compounded. I did submit a request to change copper to mcg , it’s is mg right now. That’s too high. I would love to see a half pill option since some need to be cut in half.

Newest version finally has archiving feature for every element. That is what I wanted on my supplements, - when I need to take a break for a few months I can hide those elements to keep my list short. Once I need them I can just make them visible again.
