User Reviews

Reviews for Urban VPN on Apple are mainly negative. The core issues are that the service is not truly free and pushes paid plans, with frequent claims of misleading advertising. Users report reliability problems (failed connections, drops, slow speeds), frequent account/subscription problems (blocked access, cancellation difficulties), and geo-location issues (defaulting to Texas or inability to set other countries). Many also express distrust due to marketing claims and a discontinued free option, indicating a widespread dissatisfaction with pricing, functionality, and support.

Pros

Cons

Not free; paid required and frequent claims of misleading free access (free trial advertised but users report payment or subscription needed)
Reliability/connection issues; VPN often fails to connect, drops, or performs poorly
Account/subscription problems; users report blocked access, inactive subscriptions, and difficulty canceling
Geo-location issues; app commonly sticks to a location (e.g., Texas) or cannot be set to the desired country (e.g., Mexico)
Marketing misrepresentation concerns; multiple reviews accuse false advertising and a lack of trust due to pricing changes and discontinued free plans
