NS MIDI Player is a lightweight, free MIDI app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It plays standard MIDI files (SMF) and GM/GS SoundFonts, and supports loading custom .sf2 or .dls fonts. Lyrics are shown in sync with playback, and you can export MIDI as audio or share files.

Open-with support from other apps, Files integration, drag-and-drop, Quick Look, background audio with AirPlay, and lock screen/Control Center scrubbing are included. You can queue multiple songs, adjust playback speed and reverb, and transpose in the full version; some features require upgrading (one-time purchase across devices).

This app does what it says with no fuss. I've tried a bunch of mids and soundfonts through it and all works as expected. The Playing Next feature is super handy as well. The app works well with VoiceOver as well everything's clearly labeled. I like the little track viewer too. Hear the various parts of a midi in isolation. Well done.
