Plus Ad Blocker for YouTube

Features & Capabilities

PiP-it enables true picture-in-picture across YouTube and other apps that block or don’t offer PiP. On iPad, simply Share > More > Picture in Picture with PiP-it! to keep watching while you multitask.

Version 2.0 adds Playlists: auto-play PiP videos with no extra taps. It also works with videos from Photos, Files, stream URLs, and many websites with video tags, making multitasking easier.

User Reviews

PiP-it! is a solid PiP option with local-file playback and responsive support, and it benefits from updates for newer iOS versions. However, users repeatedly report crashes (especially with long videos/playlists), YouTube-related PiP blocking, licensing/restore purchase issues, notable feature gaps (no repeat option), and occasional video-loading problems, which significantly impact reliability.
Pros
  • Solid picture-in-picture functionality; one of the better PiP apps available.
  • Works with videos saved in the iOS Files app.
  • Responsive customer support that provides quick fixes when issues arise.
  • Periodic updates to support newer iOS versions (e.g., updates for iOS 26).
Cons
  • Crashes and instability, especially with long videos or large playlists.
  • YouTube updates or blocks that disable PiP, causing the app to stop working.
  • Paid version issues and trouble restoring purchases; some users cannot use the app after paying.
  • Missing key features and slow updates (e.g., no repeat option; user feature requests).
  • Videos sometimes fail to load or play within the app.

There’s only one other app that’s picture-in-picture and has a repeat option but it actually isn’t a repeat option in the sense that we think. It’s just set part A and set part B. VLC media player also has a set part A and part B, but it doesn’t have picture and picture. This one is one of the better ones of all the ones out there that have picture-in-picture capabilities, but can we not implement a repeat feature ? Being the year 2026 I don’t understand how that’s not possible. The only other thing is when it plays long videos that are about 20 minutes or more it’ll just freeze or simply crash and if you try to add too many things to a playlist or access the history after you’ve compressed quite a few videos it will just crash every time until you clear the history. I don’t understand how the developer(s)don’t test their own app to validate whether or not it works especially for larger projects, like when someone wants to add 12 to 15 videos and create a playlist which the app clearly is supposed to do, but then it doesn’t work. when you go to open the app back up and tap on one of those videos, it just simply crashes every single time. So the only way to get it to work is to clear the playlist and clear the history and you just have to manually open one video at a time. Come on now.

Works perfectly and 5 stars. Appreciate developer for updating support for iOS 26. It's been a long 9 months!

Certain videos don’t play for whatever reason.
