User Reviews

The Darklab app is highly inconsistent. A large number of reviews describe firmware updates that brick batteries or render devices unusable, plus widespread connection/pairing and Bluetooth problems. Users also report login/setup barriers and rapid battery drain after updates. A smaller subset note that, when functioning, the app offers useful in-app control of settings (egive) and firmware-update alerts. Overall, reliability is poor and support response is slow, making the app a risky companion to the hardware.
Pros
  • When it works, the app provides in‑app control of machine settings and modes (egive function, switching from line work to shading).
  • Push notifications alert you when firmware updates are available.
  • The app provides centralized firmware management and battery connectivity for Flux devices.
Cons
  • Firmware updates frequently brick batteries or render devices inoperable (LEDs flashing blue/green/red or power cycling).
  • Chronic connectivity and pairing problems: the app struggles to find or connect to Flux batteries and Bluetooth drains the battery.
  • Repeated firmware update prompts and incomplete update flows that lock the app or leave devices unusable.
  • Login, account setup, and onboarding issues prevent using the app at all.
  • Battery life is drastically reduced after updates, with reports of only a few hours of use.
Recent reviews
This app was destined to fail the moment Gaston decided to be greedy and put a lock on the powerbolt version 1, claiming it didn’t have the capabilities to be controlled by the app or the bluetooth foot pedal . (When they used to advertise the flux like that when it first got out.) Just for people to buy the new powerbolt. LJack & Alexx” from youtube have already proved the powerbolt v1 has a software lock Shame on you.

This app is always been junk. These people make a lot of money and they can’t even get a good app that works right won’t even let me login always giving me an error. Doesn’t work properly. Do better.

Glad I can change the while more easily, but an equally important thing it doesn’t do is reset your timer, which is also time consuming from the battery. Maybe a way to do that would improve the app function a ton! Thanks
