User Reviews

Users largely praise BubbleShoota for its simple, relaxing, and addictive bubble-shooting gameplay with a classic feel. However, many reviews repeatedly cite stability and compatibility issues, including frequent freezing, bugs, and startup crashes after updates. Playback frustrations also include aggressive progression pacing, color/popping glitches, and perceived unfair mechanics. Overall, the core appeal remains, but its appeal is undermined by persistent technical problems and update-related instability.
Pros
  • Simple, easy-to-pick-up and relaxing gameplay.
  • Fun and engaging with a balanced challenge and addictive play.
  • No-ads version is appreciated by some players.
  • Classic bubble shooter feel with a solid, well-executed update to the genre.
  • Great for casual, winding-down sessions.
Cons
  • Frequent freezing and crashes during play, especially near the end of games.
  • Bugs affecting popping mechanics and color behavior (bubbles not popping, colors reappearing, display glitches).
  • Startup crashes or the app failing to open after updates or on newer iOS versions.
  • Progression speeds ramp up too fast, making games unwinnable.
  • Alleged color-changes or 'cheats' in the game mechanics, and missing features like color-switching or bombs.

I say this in a very few words. This game sucks and you don’t even listen to what other people are saying.

I don’t really know how long I’ve had this Game, I just know I played it on my past two iPhones (I don’t replace them often), I played it during my community college days when waiting for classes to start (and I graduated more than a year ago!), I’ve played it at my old job whenever I was super upset or stressed out. I played it when having panic attacks or just having a rough time and needed a mental break. I played it when bored. I played it when I was just really deep in thought or brainstorming something. I still play it all the time and I always will, I think. There are ads on the free version but not long, undisruptive (I think most are muted), and only occur between game rounds (which are maybe 10-15 mins? Or maybe I suck at the game lol) and don’t interrupt gameplay. Needless to say, this game is my Tetris and has likely kept me mentally sane more than any other game could, including Tetris itself.

When I was 9, I had minimal concentration and left a bad review. I started playing this game again and found a way to beat it. I realized that every time you get rid of an entire color, it never appears again. Once you get rid of every color, you win. I did just that in maybe 10 minutes. My review three years ago was very dramatic and harsh. I do not feel the same way anymore. I recommend this game to anyone who likes a challenge, but those with a short attention span should not play this.
