User Reviews

Overall, Mochi is praised for its clean UI, a powerful, customizable spaced repetition system, offline-friendly use, and cross-device syncing, plus rich features for language learning. However, recurring issues cited across reviews include stability bugs (crashes and occasional card data corruption), difficulties sharing decks and deck links, unreliable login/verification flows, privacy/data-tracking concerns, and some UX quirks around attachments and card management that hinder workflow.
Pros

  • Powerful spaced repetition with customizable intervals and flexible multi-sided cards/templates.
  • Free to use with no ads and affordable premium options for extra features.
  • Great cross-device syncing and browser integration for seamless study across devices.
  • Rich language-learning features, including support for images/attachments and audio in the paid version, plus easy deck/template import.
Cons
  • Stability issues including crashes and card data corruption on multiple platforms.
  • Deck sharing and deck-link problems, with decks often not shareable or links failing to locate decks.
  • Login and verification problems, including unreliable email verification and token/login flow.
  • Privacy/data usage concerns, including perceived data tracking and transparency issues.
  • UX quirks around attachments and card management, such as counterintuitive attachment handling and previews that hinder manual review.
Recent reviews
It has been a couple of releases since the developer said they would look into providing proper labels to the buttons but a lot of them still say "button" which doesn't tell blind or low vision users anything. Avoid this app if you rely on voiceover.

Everything is great, except for the fact that it does not work offline. I cannot log in for some reason, it just doesnt send any token to my email, though it should for verification purposes, so that i can use my email to save data. Would really appreciate it being fixed!

Great app for language learning. I love that the paid version (worth the expense) allows you to add audio by highlighting the phrase or word and sliding the scroll bar over to “speech.” This is much better than Anki and slightly more user friendly. Mochi is not without a slight learning curve, but totally worth it. I wish that you could set your decks to scroll through the cards without you having to manually click from card to card. Then I could easily review materials while driving. The app is pretty great though.
