Check the app preferences - you can adjust whether you want the app to check for smiles, eyes opened or even winking! You can even adjust how big a smile to detect for, or how wide the eyes should be open!

Simply press the smiley shutter button, and wait - smiley faces will highlight green and other faces will highlight red. When everyone's face is green - Snap - SmileCam takes a smiley photo!
