User Reviews

User reviews mainly complain about unreliable Bluetooth connectivity with Arduino boards and pairing difficulties, with frequent disconnects, mixed connection status, and occasional app crashes, especially after purchases. Some hardware compatibility issues are noted, such as headsets not being detected or adapters not attaching properly. A few users mention positive capabilities like adding and editing stored messages for dot matrix displays, but overall reliability and hardware support are the dominant concerns. A small number of reviews express satisfaction, but the consensus leans toward avoiding the app due to instability and limited reliability.
Pros
Cons
  • Unreliable Bluetooth connection: the app often won't stay connected to the Arduino or Bluetooth module, with disconnects and connections that flip between connected and not connected.
  • Difficult pairing to Arduino Bluetooth adapters: connection can be flaky and may require restarting the app.
  • Post-purchase instability: some users report the app locks up or becomes unstable after purchasing unlock features.
  • Hardware compatibility issues: some Bluetooth headsets or adapters are not detected or supported.

As a microcontroller developer who releases a lot of MIT-licensed code, I was looking for a nice Bluetooth app for my iPhone that I could use to my interact with my favorite microcontroller. I don’t use the Arduino, but that doesn’t matter; it’s all about serial communications. Let me just keep this short. This app will waste your time and your money. It barely works, and has a horrible interface that is not intuitive. It looks very sexy in the App Store, but after you’ve spent your 12 bucks to unlock everything, it’s nothing but a nightmare.

App will not stay connected long enough to build a button. Do not buy!
