Users praised ScootRoute as a smart idea for scooter navigation, with the ability to tailor routes to low-speed scooters. However, the app is plagued by frequent server errors and unresponsiveness, with Get Directions failing and searches returning nothing. Many reports indicate the app stopped working around March and remains unrepaired, and some addresses aren’t reliably recognized. Despite a strong concept and initial usefulness, reliability and ongoing support appear severely lacking.

Pros

Allows scooter navigation by dialing in scooter speed limits and limitations.
Was a helpful, reliable source of directions for low-speed scooters when it worked.
Concept is strong: a targeted routing tool for scooter commuters.

Cons

Persistent server/API errors (500 Internal Server Error/HTTP/HTTPS failure) prevent generating routes.
The app is often unresponsive or nonfunctional (searches or Get Directions do nothing).
App appears to have stopped working recently with little or no developer support.
Address recognition is inconsistent and navigation reliability is compromised.

Recent reviews

The developers is clearly no longer working on this project. I’m getting error messages that it can’t contact the server. This should be removed from the App Store.
