Oceans on iOS looks great and stays true to the board game, with strong learning value and expandable content. However, it is plagued by crashes, loading and purchase restoration issues, and readability/UI problems on phones. The lack of online multiplayer (only pass-and-play/2-player) and inconsistent AI strength detract from the experience. Overall, the concept and presentation are strong, but stability and online features need significant improvement.

This game is peak. I just wish there were more cards available without paying money, but this game is still peak.

It’s a great game, but you’ll never finish a game of it, because it ALWAYS crashes when it gets to the second phase. They’ve known about the problem for more than a year (I’ve reported it and so have others) and either can’t fix it or can’t be bothered to. So while I really like the game, there’s no point in playing it. I deleted it, picked it back up after a few years. The specific problem I reported before is fixed, but it’s super-buggy now. Can’t resume a game because it won’t load. Cards tend to freeze on the screen and won’t shrink down. Parasitism card often doesn’t work.
