Running on a crowd-sourced platform, KhojGurbani Media offers an unmatched collection of live Gurbani kirtan and podcasts that include: 25000 + recordings in different styles rendered in traditional and contemporary styles by a diverse group of exponents (ragis); daily Nitnem Banis and podcasts from A Sabad A Day, a world-wide KhojGurbani initiative to collectively read the Guru Granth Sahib, one passage a day with an exegesis [Katha] in English and Punjabi.

Functionally rich, KhojGurbani Media provides the ability to:

Search for any track, Ragi or recording in multiple ways
Download and listen offline
Neatly organize a Library to see all liked and added kirtan, playlists and artists subscribed to

I came across Khoj Gurbani in Apple Podcasts and was interested in listening to a sehaj paat type katha in english. However, apple podcasts didnt have the entire katha from Ang 1, and I downloaded this app in hopes of finding it and I jumped for joy when I saw the “Sabad a day”feature starting right from the mool mantar! I am excited for the journey in reading my first sehaj paat and I know this app will be of great benefit. I am mind blown by the amazing english translations in the sabad a day section. In the opening mool mantar episode Khoj Gurbani states they are at best an approximation, but they certainly do more justice than other translations I have come across in other Sikhi apps. For example Ik Onkaar is usually translated as “there is one god” but Khoj Gurbani translates it as “oneness that is being and becoming” 🤯. I will be recommending this app to anyone from a Western background that wants to learn more about Gurbani.

This app allows you to listen to various ragis, find shabads and see a library of ragis who have sung it and download it or create a playlist. When you select a shabad to listen to, the translation also shows up. Best part is being able to download keertan and nitnem so I can listen later without using up my data. I can create playlists and favorite tracks or ragis. Highly recommend. I didn’t have to worry about installing keertan on my phone dot my figures with the ability to download. Also cool that there are various radios available to listen to along with the saabad a day.
