Features & Capabilities

LapTrak can now accurately track indoor runs either via manual speed settings or automatically if your treadmill supports Bluetooth.

LapTrak is a running activity tracker with features designed for speed, interval, and lap training. Activities can be tracked using the LapTrak iPhone or Apple Watch app. If you have an Apple Watch, you can leave your iPhone at home, with activities syncing back to the iPhone app upon completion.

Integration & Compatibility: LapTrak integrates with HealthKit, Strava, and the Health & Activity apps, allowing your runs to contribute to your daily stats. You can upload activities to Strava with one tap or export them in TCX format for other platforms.

Core Features: LapTrak excels at tracking and analyzing individual laps, regardless of their time or distance. You can manually track laps with the large lap button or let a training program handle it automatically. • Classic Laps: Free program for manual or auto lap tracking with customizable lap distances. Great for sprints, intervals, splits, and reminders like halfway points or gels. • Upgraded Programs: Available for purchase and fully customizable: • Lap Repeats: Fast + recovery laps by time, distance, or location. • Pyramid Laps: Intervals with increasing and decreasing durations. • Tabata: 8x 20-second sprints with 10-second recoveries. • Tempo: Target a hard pace based on your 5K time. • Yasso 800s: Predict and train for marathon goals.

During the Run: LapTrak offers interval and total run stats at a glance, with optional spoken feedback. Switch between interval and overall stats mid-run with a tap. Both iPhone and Apple Watch apps include outdoor and indoor modes: • Outdoor: Tracking via GPS • Indoor Manual: Input treadmill speed yourself. • Indoor Bluetooth: Automatically track speed with compatible treadmills.

LapTrak also features a cadence training aid, providing audio feedback to help you hit your target cadence.

Post-Run Analysis: After your run, LapTrak provides a detailed breakdown of overall and interval stats. On the iPhone app, view summaries, interactive maps, and tables of interval splits, including pace, distance, time, elevation, heart rate, and cadence. Select intervals for deeper analysis, including pace graphs and rankings.

LapTrak also highlights fast intervals, showing specific stats alongside overall results. For back-and-forth sprints or track workouts, LapTrak groups points for clearer analysis.

Additional Features: • Social media sharing with detailed stat views. • KM/mile support, pause & auto-pause, heart rate tracking, and warmup/cooldown options. • Highly configurable to suit any running style.

User Reviews

This app is only okay for those who run on an indoor track where gps struggle to measure distance. It would be a great app if they made a few small upgrades: 1) Allow users to enter the exact distance for an indoor track. Many gyms have indoor tracks of varying lengths. It would be nice to be able to enter a custom distance. Or even if on a standard sized track, sometimes locations prefer that joggers use the outside lane. It would be nice to be able to record the distance of the other lanes. 2) Place the pause and finish buttons on the same screen as the lap button. The lap counter works well, but you have to swipe to a different screen to pause or finish the run. This is hard to do when your phone is in an armband or in a pouch on your waist, etc. This seems like an unnecessary step. 3) Allow users to plan the number of laps they want to run. For example, I may want to run 20 laps on an indoor track. It would be nice if I could indicate that before I start and then each time I complete a lap it would tell me how many laps remain. 4) Display on the screen how many laps the user has completed. Sure, audio prompts are helpful, but sometimes it is nice to get a visual reminder as well in case I get lost in thought while listening to a podcast. I think most indoor runners would be willing to pay a little extra for these added features. As of now, this app is little more than a click counter for those who run on an indoor track. We these upgrades, it could be a great app.

The screen is buggy on my watch. The lap button is below the screen on my watch and I’m not able to push it easily. Because of that I also couldn’t end the run easily either. Also like previous reviewer said, I’d like to change the units. I was looking for a lap counter for my indoor track runs this winter. This isn’t the app for that.

Will Update my review my Only suggestion is giving the ability to change the units of measurement to miles or meters as options too.
