I love Masterbooks curriculum, their App, and their Academy Courses. I just have one minor tweak to the app I would love to see. I would love to be able to watch a live stream or replay of live stream as Picture in Picture I think it is called where I can leave the MB App and still be able to either listen to the streaming video or watch it while I go into other apps and whatnot. Much like I can with YouTube. Otherwise I love the community on the app and the user interface is pretty easy to navigate.

User Reviews
Users praise Master Books for its warm, supportive homeschooling community and user-friendly app that provides easy access to curriculum, Academy videos, and teaching resources. The teaching tip videos and active participation from MB staff and families add value. However, several reviews cite significant downsides: strict moderation and censorship that stifles discussion and outside resource suggestions; recurring login issues that block access; and general app reliability problems. If the community and content access matter most and moderation is tolerable, the app is highly beneficial; otherwise these issues may hinder the experience.
Pros
- Strong, supportive homeschooling community within the MB app.
- Easy-to-use, intuitive interface and navigation.
- Centralized access to Masterbooks curriculum, Academy videos, and teaching resources (teaching tips, lives).
- Engaged, helpful community interactions and staff involvement.
Cons
- Heavy moderation/censorship by admins that limits discussion and outside-resource recommendations.
- Login issues preventing access (password reset, sign-in failures).
- App reliability problems and occasional functionality issues.
Recent reviews
Masterbooks curriculum is amazing. The app also works well. But the level of censorship within the app by admins makes it not supportive at all. You can only recommend or discuss MB products. Heaven forbid you ask what supplemental reading would be good to add, or any question at all that doesn’t lead right back to Masterbooks.com where they can make a sale. It feels very disingenuous and like they’re only worried about promoting their products. It’s really a shame because it’s a fantastic curriculum, but unless you enjoy censorship, don’t expect much encouragement in the app.
