User Reviews

Overall, A Game With Blocks delivers a faithful, addictive Puzzle League–style experience with nostalgic visuals and solid controls. Players praise its engaging gameplay, retro charm, and replayability across modes and difficulties, plus multiplayer features. The main drawbacks are intrusive ads (desire for an ad-free/purchase option), occasional control bugs and crashes, and frequent requests for more content (time trial, puzzles, AI opponents) and better offline/online options (controller support, matchmaking, cross-platform leaderboards). Despite these, it’s well-liked by Puzzle League fans and offers substantial entertainment on iOS.
Pros
  • Addictive, engaging puzzle gameplay similar to Panel de Pon/Puzzle League
  • Faithful nostalgic vibe with cute graphics and characters
  • Solid, intuitive controls that feel right once learned
  • Strong replayability from varied modes and progression (endless mode, multiple difficulties, adventure)
  • Fun multiplayer features and easy profile/friend connections
Cons
  • Ads are intrusive; users want an ad-free option or paid remove ads
  • Control bugs and occasional crashes, especially at higher levels
  • Desire for more content: time trial mode, puzzle mode, AI opponents; offline options
  • Limited online player base; matchmaking and cross-platform features requested
  • Controller support requests

Something about the Slide mechanic is off. Sometimes the block moves and sometimes it doesn’t. Also, the pink and the purple color blocks are way too similar, and hard to differentiate. And when all the blocks freeze during a pressure moment, some of them are warped beyond recognition. And one triangle could be frozen in one warped position while another triangle could be frozen in a different one, making them almost impossible to match. They should be synced up and the amount of warping should be reduced.

I don't expect much from iOS variants of popular games from other platforms but being a fan of Panel de Pon (Puzzle League) I had to give this a try and I am happy I did. What first looks like a simple knock off is quickly becoming my new "go to" for this addictive game. Cute graphics and characters are not exclusive to the Big "N" and this is proof, and gameplay is more challenging than expected. Bravo!
