User Reviews

Users like the workouts and the MAXPRO hardware, and note strong onboarding and responsive support. However the app suffers from frequent crashes, watch integration issues, and unreliable casting. A paywalled content model and a cluttered UI further detract from the experience, with several library and navigation issues recurring across reviews.
Pros
  • Workouts are nice and the app serves as a comprehensive fitness hub.
  • Hardware quality is solid and the device works well even without the app.
  • Onboarding is informative and helps users get started with MAXPRO.
  • Customer support is responsive and helps address bugs.
  • The app offers a broad set of features for workouts and tracking.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and instability across the app.
  • Apple Watch connectivity and health data syncing are unreliable.
  • TV casting / AirPlay features are buggy or not working.
  • Paywall / subscription model limits free content and feels overpriced.
  • UI/UX is cluttered and navigation is non-intuitive, with gating elements.

The max pro machine works ok overall, but it’s quite overpriced given what it is. But this review is for the app primarily. The phone app works OK, but it is not the most intuitive for navigation. A lot of things are not where you would expect them to be and it’s somewhat difficult to find what you’re looking for because the screen is cluttered with lots of little cards. Additionally, the Apple Watch app does not work at all. It says that it’s connected on my phone, but it never works. The watch apps there on the screen with the start button grayed out, it doesn’t collect heart rate data, and the app doesn’t do anything. Given how much the machine itself costs, I chaff at the idea of a subscription. There ought to be a lot more free content included in the app. I don’t think that all new content should be free, because then they would not be able to afford to keep producing new content. But they ought to be a bigger basic library of training programs that are available for free. After all, it’s not really “free,” the machine itself is crazy expensive. But, then given the pricey subscription model for additional content, the app ought to function flawlessly, but it doesn’t. I’m not sure where the money is going, but I don’t see the value here. If the apps worked as they’re supposed to, and provided a bit more free content, I’d give it 4-4.5 stars. (I still think it’s an overpriced system for what it is.)

After updating to 5.3.11 my app constantly shows 0% for the battery and the resistance does not update in the app at all, it remains at 0.0lbs even while connected to bluetooth. The sound effects in the app are also extremely annoying and there’s no obvious way to disband it. The app also has no obvious way to contact support or get help for any issues.

Barely used it for 30 seconds and found some glaring usability issues. Rename nickname to username, since it is a required field. If I go into social feed, I have to agree to the terms and conditions, but this window prevents me from navigating to other areas of the app that do not require the agreement. Therefore, I have to force close the app if I don’t care about the social feed.
