User Reviews

The reviews largely praise Queen’s Wish for its strong, well-written story, classic Spiderweb-style CRPG depth, and engaging empire-management mechanics, all wrapped in a mobile-friendly, pay-once package with an accessible, turn-based combat system and loot. Critics note that the game may feel more linear and streamlined than earlier Spiderweb titles, and some players dislike the XP changes and find the art style not to everyone's taste. There are occasional device/UI quirks on certain iPhones, but overall it’s a compelling, old-school RPG suitable for quick sessions.
Pros
  • Well-written story with extensive NPC dialogue and meaningful choices.
  • Classic, deep old-school CRPG feel with turn-based combat and rich world-building.
  • Empire management and base-building add substantial strategic depth.
  • Mobile-friendly experience with a responsive iPhone UI, no grinding, and a pay-once model.
  • Fun loot system and satisfying gameplay that scales well for short play sessions.
Cons
  • XP progression is streamlined and changed from previous Spiderweb games, which some fans dislike.
  • Overall game is perceived by some as weaker than earlier Spiderweb titles.
  • Some players report UI/window sizing issues on smaller iPhone models.
  • Graphics/style may not appeal to all players and can deter some.
  • Some feel the game is more linear with less open-world exploration than older titles.

I had heard of this developer but never played any of their games before now. Queen’s Wish 1 + 2 are available to download for IPhones, so it was a perfect time to try them out. Haven’t played the second yet but so far I’m having a pretty good time with this game. Story is written well, finding loot is fun, and building up a small nation is also very fun. A lot of people I feel like could be put off from the graphics or even the style, but from my understanding this is a 2 person team with the occasional freelance help to make these games, which in my opinion is VERY impressive. I love RPGs and pretty much have played every single one made in the last couple of decades. Don’t sleep on this game, Indie developers are personally holding up the gaming sphere in my opinion, with most AAA games feeling like a waste of time (and they are). My only wish is if the developer can, to import more of their games on iPhone, and not just iPad. Not sure how much that costs or work needs to be done, but I would definitely purchase more of your games.

I love RPGs. This game is amazing. The graphics are simple. But the gameplay is amazing. It’s as if they took an rpg and boiled it down to its best parts. You can choose to play 5 mins or longer. It’s perfect for picking up here and there. I haven’t had this much fun with an indie rpg since the Doom and Destiny series. If you’re a fan of rpgs you’ll love this. It’s addictive. I can’t stop playing. I can’t wait to play part 2 and can’t wait for when part 3 comes out.
