Features & Capabilities

C.ARP is a totally different keyboard for musicians who want to play anywhere. Inspired by old keyboards, omnichords and tape effects, it lets you play chords, melodies and rhythms as a single expressive instrument. Its intuitive touch layout makes it easy to hold a button and swipe or tap to perform, or access chords and notes directly on the grid. Pitch, harmonize, modulate and apply real-time audio effects in flight, while the rhythm section follows your chord choices with adjustable styles and BPM.

This update adds iPad-optimized layouts, a built-in tutorial, and Bluetooth out to connect your iPhone to a Mac or DAW via MIDI. Record samples from voice or other sources, trim or loop them, and explore arpeggios, delays, reverbs, and creative environments. A focus on mobile performance and instant music creation—plus a guide and community support—helps you explore new sounds anywhere.

User Reviews

Users praise C.ARP as a cheap, faithful Omnichord-like app that’s fun and inspires ideas, with a good layout and tactile feel. The major draw is the authentic sound at a fraction of the price. However, sound issues, crashes (including with samples) and missing MIDI/AUv3/GarageBand support are common complaints, along with regressive UI changes after updates. If stability improves and MIDI/DAW integration lands, it could be a near-perfect portable Omnichord substitute.
Pros
  • Faithful Omnichord recreation with authentic sounds at a fraction of the real price.
  • Saves money by offering the Omnichord experience without buying the real instrument.
  • Fun to use and great for inspiration and creating ideas.
  • Layout/UI is strong and improved with updates (including chromatic option).
  • Haptic feedback adds a satisfying tactile feel when tapping/strumming.
Cons
  • Sound output sometimes fails or is completely silent.
  • Frequent crashes and stability problems, including on launch and during use.
  • Sample and reverse features crash or do not work.
  • Missing or broken MIDI/Audio Unit integration; GarageBand compatibility requested.
  • UI regressions after updates (smaller chord panel and persistent system settings visibility).

This app is going to be the closeted thing I get to owning a omnichord. All of the sounds on it sound just like the real thing
