TOVP

This is the official App for the Temple of the Vedic Planetarium, a project of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, Founder/Acharya: His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

The roots of the tradition come from Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu who is considered an avatar of Lord Krishna Himself 500 years who taught the method of chanting of the names of God (Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare) as the method of awakening love for Him in this age of Kali (quarrel and hypocrisy).

ISKCON Mayapur is the World Headquarters of ISKCON founded in 1972 by Srila Prabhupada in the birthplace of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Besides being the Grand Opening date of the TOVP, 2022 will also celebrate the 50th Anniversary of ISKCON Mayapur. It is destined to become a fully developed spiritual city and the capital of the Gaudiya Vaishnavas. Currently, 6 million pilgrims visit ISKCON Mayapur annually and with the opening of the TOVP in 2022 this number is expected to quadruple to 25 million. The West Bengal Department of Tourism and government are already planning ways of assisting with this huge change. Boat docks along the Ganga, new roads, and heliports are among some of the ways this will be accommodated.
