Meghdoot

Meghdoot is a joint initiative of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), and Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). It aims to deliver critical weather and agricultural advisories to farmers through a simple, easy-to-use mobile application. The app, developed by the Digital Agriculture research theme at ICRISAT (Hyderabad) in collaboration with IITM and IMD, aggregates contextualized district- and crop-wise advisories issued by Agro Met Field Units (AMFU) every Tuesday and Friday, along with forecast and historic weather data, including vernacular translations where available.

The Meghdoot Chrome Extension brings these insights to your browser, enabling farmers and agricultural stakeholders to access timely, localized guidance with a user-friendly interface and vernacular options when available.
