User Reviews

User reviews show a consistently problematic experience with New Innovations on iOS. The most frequent issues are login/institution validation failures, hours logging difficulties (no presets, date errors, duplicates), and overall instability (crashes, slow responses). Additional complaints cover poor mobile optimization (no landscape support, keyboard blocking input), missing or broken essential features (edit logs, view completed evaluations), and persistent login hurdles. While some reviews note resident evaluation features exist, the app broadly fails to deliver a reliable, mobile-friendly workflow for logging hours and assessments.
Pros
  • Includes resident evaluation features and direct observation functionality.
  • Designed for logging hours and resident evaluations.
Cons
  • Login failures due to invalid institution, missing dropdowns, and general login validation issues.
  • Hours logging is cumbersome on mobile: presets missing, free-text options unavailable, and entries can require scrolling or date errors.
  • App instability: frequent crashes, patches/updates needed, and duplication of logged procedures.
  • Poor mobile UI/UX and platform support: not optimized for mobile or iPad, landscape mode lacking, and UI elements obscured by keyboards.
  • Missing or broken core features: inability to edit logged entries, view completed evaluations, and inconsistent institution recognition.

Not user friendly - and puts dates in wrong too! Procedures logged same day are recorded as the day prior.

Honestly, the only reason I downloaded the app was to log hours. Unfortunately, that is a whole over complicated process. The web version has a “clock in” button which seems like something that should be on the app to make tracking hours easier. I end up just logging into the website on safari and logging my hours that way. General suggestion is just to add a clock in and out function to make logging hours less tedious.

Since a new update, my NI app keeps resubmitting procedures I logged the last time I was in the app. Makes a bunch of duplicates.
