Ship Structure

Ship Structure is a powerful learning tool that teaches ship terminology through three experiences using a fully interactive 3D model. Users can utilize ARKit or 3D mode.

Ship Structure is an educational mobile experience that teaches ship terminology using a robustly detailed and fully interactive 3D model. The application contains three experiences:

• a guided tour that introduces the user to the components that make up a ship's structure,

• a free explore mode that allows the user to explore the 3D model freely by simply selecting the different items to learn more,

• a scavenger hunt that challenges the user to find each item listed on the ship components list.

This application was developed at Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, inc. as a learning tool for the Apprentice School Ship Construction course. However, this free app is an excellent tool for ANYONE that wants to learn about ship structure.
