User Reviews

Users praise the app for engaging storytelling, helpful GPS cues, solid value, and broad route coverage, which enhance a long Big Sur drive. However, several reviews note reliability problems with tours not loading, audio syncing delays, and timing issues, along with requests for more stories and extended coverage.
Pros
  • Engaging, enthusiastic voice narration and storytelling that adds a new dimension to the drive.
  • GPS-guided audio that cues information before stops and helps you identify landmarks and plan photos.
  • Good value for money and reasonably priced for a long driving tour.
  • Extensive route coverage (Monterey to San Luis Obispo, including the 17 Mile Drive) with rich scenery and history.
Cons
  • Reliability issues: some tours fail to load or run for more than a few minutes.
  • GPS/audio synchronization can lag or announce information after you’ve passed a landmark.
  • Requests for more content: users want more stories and broader coverage, including potential routes all the way to Los Angeles.

Overall, the app worked great. It played most of the stories before the sight seeing point came. That was good as we knew the information just before we got there and then had time to take pictures. Voice is quite good and enthusiastic. My suggestion is to add more stories. It is a long route. The stories bring in a whole new dimension to the route. It is like going from mono to stereo music. Don’t travel without this.

For just $5 you have a handy tour guide in your pocket. The information was interesting and also engaging. Really a great idea to seamlessly tour the spots without having to stop and read along the way.

Bought and downloaded both the Big Sur and 17 mile drive tours neither worked for more than a few minutes, unable to resolve the issue and no support service available.
