User Reviews

Art of Solitaire is praised for its gorgeous art, intuitive play, and gameplay-backed deck progression. However, many reviews flag persistent ads, a revamped collection system that creates grinding, frequent bugs and data/purchase issues, and a preference for a one-time purchase over a subscription.
Pros
  • Stunning art and a diverse library of card decks, with clear indie-artist support.
  • Intuitive flicking controls and smooth, enjoyable solitaire gameplay.
  • Reward system and daily cards that let you progress and unlock decks through regular play (ad-supported), reducing emphasis on paying.
  • Regularly added decks and art-focused content keep the game feeling fresh for collectors.
Cons
  • Heavy ad presence and intrusive monetization (ads after rounds, on startup, and during play).
  • Card collection overhaul in updates feels grindy, with too many duplicates and forced discovery that slows deck completion.
  • Frequent bugs and performance issues (lag, crashes, and data/purchase restoration problems) that disrupt gameplay.
  • Desire for a one-time purchase option instead of a subscription model.
Recent reviews
I reviewed this once when it was called Flick Solitaire and was not too happy with how they had nerfed the free reward options. It had become difficulty to unlock even 1 new deck. Now, there is an ad after every round of solitaire however progression has been GREATLY improved. Daily cards, progress by playing, ad supported, and several tiers if you want what is basically a "battle pass." Love that they found a way to support the artists while still making time spent feel rewarding for the player. Best solitaire game on the market. Easily.

Specifically referring to the deck “Mythic Dragons”, Abrar Ajmal is a fake artist who uses AI. It is incredibly obvious. He has barely any followers on anything, not sure why he’s even here. It’s incredibly disheartening to see AI art in an app I thought was dedicated to artists.

I’ve been playing this game for a few years, and I absolutely adore it. I love both the game mode options and the indie artist support. Unlike other developers, I appreciate the disclaimer that all levels are solvable instead of a level generator that frequently messes up. I really hope there will be a future option for a one-time purchase for no ads. Though I understand why it’s subscription based, it’s unfortunate. I just came back to the game after a few months to find the 3.0 update. I wouldn’t say it’s a downgrade, but some aspects are a little laggy and I wish I could skip some of the new animations. When the autocomplete option appears on screen, the button takes awhile to register before it starts autocompleting the level. It’s also slightly annoying that I have to open the card packs and go through the animation before I can move onto the next level. I’m at a point in the game where I have enough coins to buy the decks I wanted, and don’t really have a need to collect anymore. I wish the animation was skippable and if it was enabled that the cards I collected would gather in the tab like it used to.
