Lockdown Privacy: AdBlock VPN

Secure Open VPN Browser Guard

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Lockdown Privacy combines an on-device firewall with a secure tunnel VPN to protect your personal data across apps and websites. Block ads, hidden trackers, and badware without sending browsing data to third-party servers, or customize protection with personal and curated block lists.

The no-logs VPN helps hide your IP address and location, protects connections on public Wi-Fi, and offers fast access to global regions. Lockdown is open source, privacy-focused, and backed by independent security audits and a public report for greater transparency.

User Reviews

Users praise the app for strong ad-blocking and security when it works, but widespread instability dominates reviews. The VPN/firewall often won’t connect and can crash internet access, with updates (especially on older iOS and 2.4.0) breaking functionality. Support is frequently cited as unhelpful, and subscription problems add to frustration. Overall, the product is viewed as unreliable at present despite its valued features.
Pros
  • Strong ad-blocking via DNS firewall when functioning.
  • VPN and firewall provide added security and privacy features.
  • Historically well-regarded for protection and blocking when the service is stable.
Cons
  • VPN/firewall activation often fails to connect or loops during setup.
  • Enabling the VPN/firewall frequently disables Wi‑Fi or cellular data, rendering the device unusable.
  • Recent updates have caused instability, particularly on older iOS versions and with version 2.4.0 breaking the firewall.
  • Support channels appear unreliable or unresponsive, with issues like undeliverable emails andDismissive responses.
  • Subscription/payment issues reported by users, such as renewals not being recognized or charged without access.
Recent reviews
They immediately pop up either their forced plan choices that are pre select to charge you their yearly price and they make it so unfriendly for the user to back out. I accidentally select their year plan and this app is worthless. Blocks have the videos I want to watch on Snapchat hence why I stopped using it months ago. No one answers from the dev tea If they even exist. Save your time and money and avoid these scammers.

This used to be a legitimate app. It was sold to a concern in Spain. Check it out on the Apple App Store ownership page. Then do a whois search. It’s no longer American owned. Furthermore, they no longer have any language on their app about your browsing history. Why? THEY COLLECT YOUR BROWSING HISTORY NOW. READ THE PRIVACY POLICY. IT IS NOT THE SAME. THE NEW YORK TIMES AND FAST COMPANY SHOULD WITHDRAW THEIR SUPPORT FOR THIS APP. The original developers sold out to a data collection company in Spain. Newery Global Media. THIS APP IS NOW DATA HARVESTING.
