Atlas of Danish Fungi

Atlas of Danish Fungi is a Chrome extension for mushroom enthusiasts in Denmark and beyond. It shows nearby mushroom species, offers AI-based image recognition, and lets you upload observations for community and expert validation. With a map of sightings, photos, and notes, you can explore over 3,000 Danish mushroom species and build an offline collection for field use. The community already includes more than 1,000 active users and has gathered over 700,000 observations.

Developed as part of Svampeatlas 2.0, the project is a collaboration between the Center for Makroecology, Evolution and Climate (CMEC) at the Natural History Museum of Denmark (SNM, University of Copenhagen), the Danish Mycological Society, and MycoKey. The app requests location access to improve reporting and discovery, with privacy safeguards. Remember that AI-provided identifications are not perfect and should be used with expert guidance to avoid misidentifications.
