User Reviews

Users praise SNAQ for its AI coach, CGM integration, fast photo-based logging, and detailed meal analytics, with several reporting improved A1c. But repeated criticisms include high subscription costs, a limited and hard-to-use food database, time-consuming logging and recipe entry, reliability issues where entries aren’t saved or times are wrong after updates, and general performance glitches like slow searches. Overall, powerful features exist, but pricing and reliability hurdles limit adoption.
Pros
  • AI coach provides meal-level guidance and supports diabetes management, often improving glucose control.
  • Strong CGM integration (Dexcom/Libre) with seamless data syncing and glucose pattern insights.
  • Photo-based food logging is fast and often accurate for carb counting.
  • Detailed meal analytics with carbs, fats, proteins, and calories and easy-to-share PDFs.
  • Reported real-world improvements in A1c and health goals from using the app.
Cons
  • High cost and a subscription-only model; free trials are short or misleading.
  • Food logging is time-consuming due to a limited database and weak recipe/serving support.
  • Reliability issues: entries not saved or times/doses wrong after updates.
  • Performance problems: clunky UI with slow searches and occasional bugs.

I am so thankful to have found this app, the AI coach has been a game changer for me! Some of the nutrition if requires double checking for me. I make most of my own food, vs packaged food. I am a Type 1 on a pump and have been 93%+ in range due to the help of the app and the ai coach!

App world ok for about a day, then it stopped recognizing foods. Super clunky for entering ingredients. Dated updates and duplicated glucose entries. Then didn't let me cancel at the end of the trial period.
