User Reviews

Reviewers broadly praise Mesh/Clay as a powerful network CRM with a clean interface and strong integrations, useful for staying connected. However, widespread complaints focus on billing practices, reliability bugs, data privacy concerns, and onboarding friction, with many noting that AI features and syncing are imperfect. Overall, strong potential but significant trust and stability issues hold back wider adoption.
Pros
  • Powerful tool for managing personal and professional networks with a full picture of relationships.
  • Clean, intuitive UI with fast search, keyboard shortcuts, and a native iOS feel (widgets/Shortcuts).
  • Strong integrations and linking to multiple contact points (Notion, other apps) and cross-app connectivity.
  • Long-term reliability and ongoing improvements; years of use and responsive team.
  • Helpful at events and for staying up-to-date with contacts; easy to stay organized.
Cons
  • Billing friction: forced credit card on free trial, upfront charges, and difficult cancellation/refunds.
  • Bugs and reliability issues: onboarding freezes, slow performance, archiving/memory problems, merging issues, Nexus AI not working.
  • Privacy and data concerns: perceived unethical data use and privacy risks with contact data and social data.
  • Onboarding/permissions friction: forced invites, excessive permissions, and consent marketing; privacy concerns.
  • Incomplete data sync and enrichment: not all contacts or data sync; data lag and manual work needed.

Use it every week, a super charged rolodex for me to stay on top of updates and reminders within my network

I’d use the app if I wasn’t forced to add a credit card to use the free version… I’m more than willing to pay for a subscription if I like it (and it looks like I’d like it), but I’m not giving my credit card to use a free version of an app! lol

Chat GPT said clay was good. I thought I did enough research but now I’m using the app and none of my notes for my contacts are there! Even the Nexus feature for individual contacts isn’t working. I click it and nothing happens. When I use the Nexus feature (not linked to specific contact) it’ll still tell me about my notes but that’s so inconvenient. The app is not due for an update and the Nexus assures me it’s just a UI bug… you also can’t delete contacts just archive them. I just feel like I might as well keep notes on my contact library. I would get a refund if I could. I wish I never bought the year subscription $120 down the drain. By the way- in my opinion the 5 star reviews seem like bots- or they had personal interest in a good review…
