User Reviews

Overall, users praise Gear for its powerful, script-friendly feature set and responsive support, including strong dev tools. However, recurring drawbacks are reliability of extensions, crashes, pricing, missing essentials, and slower performance. The app is valued by power users who want scripting capabilities, but many would hesitate to pay for a subscription or endure stability and feature gaps.
Pros
  • Excellent support for userscripts and built-in developer tools, including document-start script injection.
  • Very responsive customer support with swift bug fixes.
  • Powerful, feature-rich browser with extensive customization and tools (ad-block, media handling, shortcuts).
  • Video/media saving and management via scripts.
Cons
  • Extensions are unreliable; many extensions don’t work or are not fully supported.
  • Frequent crashes and stability issues when loading or restoring tabs.
  • Subscription model and pricing are a major turn-off; paywalls perceived as expensive.
  • Missing essential features and clear UI gaps (pin tabs, default homepage, custom search) and related UI limitations.
  • Performance can be slower than competing browsers like Safari.
Recent reviews
This has become my main browser. What does it for me is the ability to install extensions and user scripts. I actually searched browsers that use both of those and that’s how I found Gear. There’s a few kinks that need to be worked out, like how it freezes. All in all, so far so good. Please keep the updates coming!

I think you guys would have to work on your extensions, I have downloaded multiple extensions like MetaMask, Rabby, Phantom, and etc. but none of them is working, it can’t even open the extension for to create or import my wallet. I’m giving you 3 stars and if you work on it I’ll give all 5 stars
