User Reviews

Gearbag TX is praised for accurate, up-to-date statutes and case law, strong search, and field-usefulness, with good value for money. However, recurring issues include unlocking the full version after purchase, intermittent search failures, and missing or broken case law content. Resolving these would make it a consistently essential reference for on-call law enforcement and study.
Pros
  • Accurate, up-to-date statutes and case law; content is reliable and kept current.
  • Strong search capabilities and quick access to statutes and case law for fast reference.
  • User-friendly navigation with the option to save frequently used chapters for quick access.
  • Valuable field tool for law enforcement, especially in Texas, with generally good value for the subscription.
Cons
  • Subscription/full-version unlocking issues after purchase, with many users unable to unlock access despite payment.
  • Search functionality can be unreliable at times and may fail or underperform.
  • Content gaps: missing vital case law and broken/obsolete links in places.

I stopped using this app for a while and leaned on AI searches instead, but honestly, I got tired of dealing with AI hallucinations and bad info. Coming back to this has been a game changer—can’t get much better than having everything accurate and right at your fingertips. The search features are way better now, everything is fully updated, and I’m especially impressed with the traffic law and offense codes section. It literally saved me the other day. For $10 a year, it’s absolutely worth it.

Please add Payton -vs- New York to case law. Refers to warrantless entry to residence to arrest a felon, absent exigent circumstances.

Been looking for an up to date app like this for a couple years to quick reference things and study. Best app by far, I use it daily.
