Users repeatedly report CCSD Onboard as unreliable for real-time bus tracking. The app often lags, shows incorrect locations, or stays in 'waiting to identify bus' mode. Sign-in/out failures and crashes are common, sometimes preventing access when a child is riding. Late buses with no warnings add stress, and performance issues (wifi-only use, background updates, and a clunky UI) worsen the experience. When it does work, it offers safety benefits, but reliability is the core problem across most reviews.

Recent reviews

This app only works 20-25% of the time. Even just to post this review I've had to open and close it in the app store several times. There are times when itsays my daughter's bus in on the way to bring her home or pick her up but it is inaccurate not only in time of drop of or pick up but also where the bus is. The inconsistency has been seen repeatey by the people at the yard but they are still trying to get me to check the app . When the app has made a mistake they don't own up to it. They try and say it's user error. It doesn't seem as though anyone is trying to do anything about it. They need to offer the task of fixing it to one of the many Stem program classes or staff to improve.
