User Reviews

Users praise the app as a portable, realistic-sounding practice tool that helps percussion skills and band prep, but they repeatedly cite ads, feature gaps (no MIDI/AUv3/IAA or sharing), limited songs/instruments, and occasional glitches as major drawbacks. Overall it’s strong for practice and learning but hampered by ads, reliability issues, and missing professional features.
Pros
  • Convenient, portable practice and learning tool that doesn’t take up space like a real instrument.
  • Realistic-sounding percussion that’s useful for practice, band rehearsals, and even recordings.
  • Engaging and easy to pick up, with learning games that help associate keys with notes.
  • Helpful for percussionists and mallet players to build skills on the go.
Cons
  • Ads and content gating disrupt gameplay (ads in front of the keys; videos needed to unlock more songs).
  • Not a real instrument; lacks professional features like MIDI input and AUv3/IAA, and it can’t be used to compose or share music within the app.
  • Limited content and instrument variety; users want more songs and additional instruments.
  • Performance issues such as glitches, latency, timing problems, and occasional sound dropouts.
  • Note naming/scale inconsistencies (e.g., A# vs Bb, missing flats) and occasional unwanted echo effects.

I really like this app as a non-musician just for playing around. However, I’d give up to $5 and 5 stars for a paid version that was ad free. Don’t want ads, don’t want subs, just a one time purchase to use your software. Hate the ad placement where it is easily tripped on when trying to close the app. I suppose that is typical for apps with ads. Also, subtracted one star for no disclosure about ads in the description.
