User Reviews

BirdBreeder is a feature-rich breeder management app praised for centralized tracking of birds, pedigrees, and show data, plus active developer support and a helpful community. Users value easy data entry and customization. Common drawbacks include billing and subscription issues, occasional crashes or data loss, and missing features like weight tracking and data export. Some want better media organization (more photos and folders) and the ability to add new birds/species. Overall, strong functionality with room for stability and billing improvements.

Pros

Centralized tracking of all birds, with show results, pen locations, parentage, and ages
Active, responsive developer with ongoing updates and improvements
Ability to share bird profile files and build pedigrees, plus genetics tracking
Strong support/community (Facebook group) with quick responses
User-friendly, customizable interface with easy data entry and photo support

Cons

Subscription/paywall issues, unexpected charges, and difficulty cancelling
Stability problems including startup crashes and glitches that can lead to data loss
Core features occasionally blocked (e.g., adding new birds or species) and missing weight tracking
Missing export/print functionality to extract data
UI limitations such as only one photo per bird and lack of folders to organize data

Recent reviews

Only 1 picture per bird, could use folders so you don’t need to scroll forever to find a bird

It worked great until it didn’t. All of a sudden I can’t add new birds. I have been paying the subscription fee and had to cancel it since I can no longer use it.
