Features & Capabilities

OBD JScan is a robust diagnostic tool for Jeep, Chrysler, and Dodge vehicles. It lets you read and clear diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), view real-time live data from multiple sensors, and access settings across modules such as ABS, transmission, radio, and more.

Supported vehicles include Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Commander, Liberty, Compass, and several Dodge and Chrysler models. An appropriate OBD adapter is recommended, and some models may require additional hardware for full module access.

User Reviews

Top positives across reviews are deep Jeep-focused customization and diagnostics, a one-time purchase price with strong value, and ease of use. Common downsides include compatibility gaps with newer vehicles, intermittent connection issues and crashes, inconsistent customer support, and license activation delays. When it works, it’s powerful; when it doesn’t, it’s typically due to vehicle compatibility and connectivity problems.
Pros
  • Deep Jeep-focused customization and diagnostics (DTCs, TPMS, tire size, remote start, key fob programming) that often feel dealer-tool level.
  • One-time purchase provides strong value with ongoing improvements.
  • User-friendly and accessible, usable by non-technical users.
  • Transforms vehicle interaction by enabling features previously inaccessible without dealership tools.
Cons
  • Compatibility gaps with newer vehicles/dash setups; lists aren’t up-to-date for 2024–2025 models.
  • Unreliable connectivity and crashes; occasional failure to connect to dongle/Wi‑Fi.
  • Inconsistent customer support; experiences range from quick and helpful to slow or unresponsive.
  • License activation and payment issues; VIN license pending and payment processing problems.

I purchased this app & the bypass cable and Bluetooth scanner. Everything was working fine at first. I noticed my DRL where not on during the day so I went to try and reset it with the app and began receiving error messages. Contact JScan through FB messenger and the customer service agent was very short and snarky in there response. Told me I had a non compatible scanner. I purchased a compatible scanner from there list and am receiving the same messages. Reached out through messenger again and no response. What a waste of time and money.

Attempted to purchase VIN license within the app. Transaction still says pending over 14 hours later. Only way to contact support is Facebook. Reached out approximately 11am est. they replied back approx. 3AM. Their answer was payment processing isn’t their problem. I was able to find a work around using my Apple ID from a Mac I purchased the license and it then appeared on the phone to apply to the VIN. After applying I ran diagnostics. The error code matched what I was able to get from the RAM dash. Codes wouldn’t clear despite adding the new sensors, wouldn’t relearn after NOx install, SCR count down wouldn’t reset. I used a OBDLINK MX+ blutooth connection. Advice; Test the free version if you like for basic code clearing, license likely isn’t worth it for RAM. Don’t expect valuable support.

The app works seamless with my Jeep JK. But once I get a trouble code, it would be nice for there to be more information on a diagnosis of what it might be, maybe more symptoms you’re having if it is. That sort of thing but overall great app
