User Reviews

Reviewers praise Deepstash for bite-sized, useful learning content and a wide range of topics, which can spark reading interest. However, most feedback centers on billing problems—confusing trial terms, recurring charges, refunds disputes, and difficulty canceling. Many feel the subscription model is predatory and hard to opt out of, with renewals occurring without notice. Some report slow performance and heavy emphasis on premium features. Overall, it offers learning value but is overshadowed by pricing practices and customer support concerns.

  • Bite-sized learning notes make learning quick and easy
  • Wide variety of topics/books to choose from
Cons

  • Difficulty canceling and removing payment methods / unclear cancellation options
  • No transparent free version; trial leads to automatic paid subscription
  • Perceived predatory billing practices and renewals without clear notice
  • Performance/UI concerns and a strong push toward premium features

Deepstash positions itself as doom scrolling for intellectuals. The irony is it’s the same exact thing it criticizes wearing a fancier hat. Slow down and apply critical thinking. Back in school those who read the cliff notes rather than reading the book were often considered lazy. They didn’t care about understanding the book they wanted to spout off just enough to make it seem like they understand as much as someone who did read it. Thats who you want to be? Ew lol. Tik Tok is entertainment. Comparing it to education is some apples to orange nonsense. Either Harvard doesn’t understand this, or, understands calling you a moron for using social media will siphon a number of people to put ad spend and subscription revenue in their pockets instead. Looks like they accomplished this wonderfully. This app is the social media equivalent of people whose self growth journey begins and ends at buying self help books. Always consuming never applying. Feeling accomplished because they read another fact about self empowerment. If that’s who you want to be I have bad news for you, this app isn’t for intellectuals it’s for procrastinators. If you genuinely want to learn more, know more, and do more, the only substitute is putting in your 10,000 hours to do so. Just really take a moment to think. “Morons doom scroll on social media, you arent stupid are you? I didn’t think so. Good boy. Good dopamine monkey. Scroll here.” Absolutely ridiculous this is merely a shinning example of effective marketing in a capitalistic society. This won’t change the fact you didn’t go to Harvard, Steven. But it will distract you from remembering that you didn’t.

Oversimplified. I don’t want stories—I like facts and data.
