User Reviews

Photomator is seen as an affordable Lightroom-like editor with a strong, intuitive UI and good iOS integration, plus cross-device use and RAW recognition. However, reviewers cite significant drawbacks: limited RAW workflow, healing/masking limitations, preset management gaps, stability problems, and several missing features (dehaze, lens corrections, batch export) along with pricing and update concerns. Overall, it’s a solid, affordable option but needs updates and feature parity for power users.
Pros
  • Seamless integration with iOS Photos
  • Intuitive, easy-to-use UI and editing/navigation
  • Affordable Lightroom-like editor with strong value
  • Works across desktop and iOS with the same price and supports offline editing
  • RAW file recognition and field-work readiness
Cons
  • Limited RAW editing workflow and advanced RAW controls
  • Healing tool is limited (no clone tool) and masking is basic
  • Custom presets can’t be named and lack iCloud sync (manual export/import required)
  • Stability issues (crashes, UI jumps, resets, login/restore problems)
  • Missing key features and workflow friction (dehaze, lens distortion corrections, batch export, external-drive support) plus pricing/updates concerns

Not usable with 100mp raw files and using an ultra-wide 4k monitor (49”). The raws say unsupported, and my camera is on the supported list. X2D II

Even thought I miss all the muscle memory Keyboard Shortcuts n Hot-Keys, it is worth it to me to gain independence from the Adobe_Death_Grasp… screw those guys, as I’m really enjoying PhotoMator and wondering why it took me so long to switch ?!!?!
