Features & Capabilities

while True: learn() is a puzzle/simulation game about machine learning, neural networks, big data, and AI — with a cat as your coding partner. You play as a coder who discovers their cat is an exceptional programmer but can't speak human language. Use visual programming to design a cat-to-human speech recognition system and tackle brainy ML puzzles.

Learn ML concepts by dragging objects, connecting them, and watching data flow through your screen. The game makes real-world ideas accessible without requiring coding experience, making it great for kids, parents, teachers, and curious programmers. Dive into data science, AI, and programming through playful quests that reward problem solving and experimentation.

User Reviews

Users praise while True: learn() for being fun, educational, and well designed with engaging puzzles. However, several reviews note data loss after updates, frequent bugs/crashes, and UI readability issues (cutoffs and tiny text). Some also find clipboard/tutorial access unclear. Despite these downsides, the game remains a solid learning puzzle experience with a supportive community.
Pros
  • Educational value and learning experience through ML-themed puzzles.
  • Fun and engaging puzzle gameplay (no coding required).
  • Well-designed, polished gameplay and thoughtful level design.
  • Supportive community and resources (e.g., Discord).
Cons
  • Progress/data can be wiped after updates, causing loss of saved work.
  • Bugs, crashes, and soft locks disrupt play (launch crashes, unresponsive UI).
  • UI/text issues: controls and text cut off on some devices; text is very small with no resize.
  • Clipboard/tutorial navigation is unclear or not easily accessible (content copied but can't find it).

Very enjoyable game and great learning experience as well. The overall plot about making a cat translator is just goofy enough to set a fun and playful tone, while not threatening to diminish or overshadow the educational value. I rarely spend money on apps or write reviews, but this is an exceptional game

I love this game in concept, it's a great zachlike, but it seems like the developers didn't account for the actual form factor of a iphone. About a third of the input box gets cut off by the cutout for the front facing cameras, and the curved screen corners are a problem.

My game is soft locked at RL-0. The AI car follows at the same speed as the first car it’s following. Before this it was dodging & then slamming back behind the car it was avoiding, getting stuck. So I reset the AI. now I have the new problem of the car following at the same speed, & it’s persistent through resets of the app. I was having fun but now I’m regretting wasting money on another half baked iOS port. All I wanted was a game similar to ‘the farmer was replaced’ that I could play (& learn) away from my computer. (On iPad)
