Improve your drumming accuracy

Features & Capabilities

Ticking is a drum practice tool that listens to your strokes on a practice pad (or clap) and shows visual feedback on your timing. It measures your accuracy and helps you identify mistakes, so you can track progress and improve over time.

User Reviews

Ticking is praised for its simple, sleek design and accurate tapping metrics with helpful post-session feedback. Users value built-in patterns and strong visual cues that show progress and motivate improvement. However, recurring issues include stability problems (crashes on touch and device-specific reliability) and metronome limitations (no editable sounds or time signatures, with audible tick sometimes too soft). A few note compatibility concerns on certain devices, but the core experience remains positive for most users.
Pros
  • Simple, sleek, easy-to-use interface
  • Accurate tapping measurements with post-session accuracy readings
  • Built-in patterns and clear visual feedback that show progress
  • Motivational feedback and metrics that encourage improvement
Cons
  • Stability issues and crashes (crashes on touch; reported device-specific reliability problems)
  • Metronome customization is limited (no editable sounds or time signatures) and the tick can be hard to hear
  • Inconsistent device/OS compatibility (some devices like iPod touch report not functioning)

this app has great potential as a tool for improving accuracy. unfortunately I can neither see the price for the full version version nor get the “buy now” button to work. I tried this in both the iPhone and iPad versions of the app with the same result. wrote to support. will update review after this is fixed.
